This is a melodic, epic album with a nod to each of my main musical influences. It is inspired by the Island Records releases of the early 70's. with influences including John Cale, Cat Stevens, Nick Drake, Brian Wilson / The Beach Boys, Marc Bolan / T-Rex, Duncan Browne, Al Stewart, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Big Star, The Velvet Underground & Nico, Gene Clark, The Byrds, Nirvana & REM. The centrepieces of the album are two songs about people - performance artist Andy Kaufman and 'Gonzo' artist Ralph Steadman. Ralph lived in my hometown of Abergele in his formative years, and I am a big fan of his artwork. The rumours about Andy Kaufman faking his own death, and the subsequent mystery played a big part in setting the tone and feel of the album.

lyrics

It's nice to know you, for you are everything that makes me smile
The moon is in me, and you're the earth - so let me stay a while.
I was drifting through the galaxy in search of light
Only you could give me comfort in the endless night
Together, we have found a balance that can build the day
In harmony we're spinning to create the waves
It's nice to know you
It's nice to know you, the deja vu goes back a billion years
Our love was growing from the dust into the perfect spheres
This connection is the link on which our life depends
It can't be broken, I will circle you until the end
Together, we have found a balance that can build the day
In harmony we're spinning to create the waves
It's nice to know you
Instrumental

This is all I want it to be
Through the waves, our love is the sea
Take them up, bring them down for for a while
Reflect the stars and see me smile
It’s nice to, so nice to
Just to know you
